Gap Inc. reported positive second quarter fiscal 2024 results. The company noted that net sales increased 5% versus last year, with market share gains for the 6th consecutive quarter. 

The Gap brand’s reinvigoration efforts have helped drive market share gains, with comparable sales up 3% at the brand—representing the third consecutive quarter of positive comparable sales.

The news soon came after Gap Inc. celebrated its 55th anniversary in August 2024. The milestone was marked with events at the New York Stock Exchange and at Gap Inc.’s New York and San Francisco headquarters, with experiential design and production by Invisible Dynamics.

Richard Dickson and the Gap Inc. team rang the New York Stock Exchange opening bell, 55 years to the day since the original Gap store opened on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco in 1969. Gap Inc. updated its ticker symbol from “GPS” to “GAP,” a symbol of a milestone in the brand’s evolution on its special anniversary.
