Purpose
The Art Director is a specialist in visual storytelling, responsible for crafting compelling visual concepts that bring ideas to life. They work collaboratively with strategists, writers, designers, and clients to ensure all visual outputs meet high standards of creativity and brand integrity.
Essential Skills
You are a highly skilled visual designer with an instinct for compelling imagery and concepts. You have extensive experience in image creation, concept development, and know how to communicate abstract ideas visually. You understand how to align creative vision with business goals.
Responsibilities
Creative
Develop and lead the visual direction for creative projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and creative briefs.
Collaborate on the strategic and conceptual territory of a project.
Analyzes and integrates diverse research insights to guide strategic creative decisions.
Collaborate closely with strategists, writers, designers, directors, and clients to ensure visuals contribute to the overall project narrative.
Create sketches, mockups, storyboards, and visual concepts that guide design decisions.
Lead internal and client-facing presentations of visual concepts, gathering feedback to refine output.
Business
Partner with business development on creating impactful client proposals.
Become an expert in ID’s service offerings and capabilities and support in building case studies for proposals.
Operations
Conduct end-of-scope project evaluations to identify and implement improvements in internal processes.
Oversees large or complex projects, effectively managing timelines, team coordination, and project resources.
Leads internal and client communication; skilled in influencing client decisions and presenting strategic solutions.
Management
Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, ensuring the team stays ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Mentor junior brand designers and help elevate the team’s conceptual capabilities.
Engage proactively in building team and company culture.
Logistical Requirements
This position will be based out of New York. The salary range for this role is $130,000-$170,000 annually with medical, dental, vision, life insurance and unlimited PTO. Travel within the US and internationally may be required. Some flexibility for extended hours, including evenings and weekends, is expected when required to meet client deadlines.
