Purpose
As Business Director at Invisible Dynamics, you will lead the commercial engine — owning new business development, growth strategy, and the commercial intelligence that positions ID as the creative partner to the world's most ambitious brands. This is a senior revenue-driving role with direct influence over how we grow the business, win new clients, and scale.
You will be a senior partner to the Managing Director — bringing financial rigor, business development leadership, and commercial strategy to both inbound and outbound opportunities. On client engagements, you will own the commercial foundation: market analysis, growth opportunity mapping, and the business logic that grounds our brand transformation work. In new business, you will be the lead driver of our pipeline, and support the growth of the Invisible Dynamics’ brand.
Essential Skills
You are a rigorous commercial strategist and business development leader with a background spanning management consultancy, corporate finance, in-house strategy, or agency growth — and a track record of turning commercial complexity into clear, confident direction. You understand how enterprises grow, how businesses are structured and valued, and how great strategy connects commercial logic to brand and creative ambition.
You are:
A sharp analyst and strategic synthesizer — able to interrogate dense financial, operational, or market data and surface the insight that actually drives decisions, not just supports them
Commercially fluent — with a strong grasp of business models, P&L dynamics, growth levers, and what creates enterprise value at scale
A skilled financial modeler — comfortable building and stress-testing models that inform both client recommendations and ID's own business planning
A confident and compelling new business leader — with a track record of shaping pitches, developing commercial proposals, and closing high-value engagements
An active builder — someone who doesn't just apply frameworks but helps develop IP, shape our offer, and evolve how we take it to market
A clear and credible communicator — able to present complex thinking with precision and authority to CEO and CFO-level stakeholders, both client-side and internal
Comfortable with ambiguity and high concurrency — able to lead across new business pursuits, client engagements, and internal planning simultaneously without sacrificing quality
Responsibilities
Brand Transformation: Business & Growth Strategy
Work in close partnership with the Strategy team on transformation scopes — owning the business and commercial dimension to inform the brand strategy
Lead the business analysis and commercial strategy workstream — providing the market intelligence, growth opportunity mapping, and commercial logic that grounds the broader brand strategy work
Analyze complex commercial documents, category data, financial performance, and competitive positioning shared by senior client teams, and translate findings into clear insights and strategic direction to inform executive-level decision making
Serve as a senior strategic partner to clients at the CEO and CFO level, earning trust through analytical depth and commercially grounded recommendations
Business Development
Lead ID's new business function within Client Services — working closely with the CEO and MD to drive the identification and conversion of new opportunities
Cultivate and leverage senior client relationships to create inbound opportunity and deepen existing accounts
Actively represent ID at key industry moments - events, screenings, fashion weeks, music showcases, and cultural gatherings, ensuring ID is front-of-mind for new business opportunities.
ID Business Operations
Work directly with the CEO and MD on new business financial planning, scenario modeling, and business performance analysis
Contribute to annual and quarterly planning processes — translating business ambitions into financial and operational priorities
Support the productization of ID's strategic IP — identifying where our methodologies can be packaged, scaled, and taken to market beyond traditional consultancy engagements
Partner with leadership to define the business case and growth plan underpinning ID's platforms, intelligence products, and incubated ventures
Leadership & Collaboration
Set the commercial bar for quality, rigor, and ambition across all business strategy and new business work
Guide and mentor team members to impart business strategy expertise and elevate the commercial thinking across Client Services
Collaborate with strategy, creative, and production leadership to identify opportunities to inject commercial intelligence meaningfully into the scope of what we deliver.
