Purpose

As Senior Digital Designer at Invisible Dynamics, you will own the design and execution of digital experiences that drive commercial performance for culturally driven brands. You sit at the intersection of brand, commerce, and technology, translating strategic intent into digital touchpoints that convert, engage, and elevate the customer journey across ecommerce platforms, websites, and digital campaigns.

This role functions like a digital product designer within a technology organization, but applied to the world of brand, fashion, and culture. You will partner closely with Strategy, Creative, Production, and Client Services teams to ensure digital outputs are grounded in insight, aligned with brand identity, and optimized for performance. You bring a systems-level understanding of how users interact with digital products, from information architecture and user flows to responsive design and interaction patterns, and you apply that thinking to every project you touch. Figma is your primary design environment; you work within it with expert-level fluency, from complex prototyping and component architecture to design tokens and developer handoff.

You are also forward-looking in how you work. You actively explore and integrate AI-powered design tools and emerging technologies into your process. Not as a shortcut, but as a way to push creative boundaries, accelerate iteration, and unlock new possibilities for clients. You are a senior creative contributor who shapes digital direction, mentors junior team members, and raises the bar for what digital craft looks like at ID.

Essential Skills

You are a digitally native designer with 5 to 8 years of experience designing for ecommerce, web, and digital product environments, ideally within an agency, brand, or technology company. You have a deep understanding of how design drives conversion, engagement, and brand perception in digital channels, and you apply systems-level thinking to every project you touch.

You are:

  • An ecommerce design expert with a strong portfolio spanning product pages, landing pages, checkout flows, and promotional campaigns that balance brand expression with conversion performance.

  • A Figma power user with deep fluency in design systems, component variants, auto-layout, design tokens, and production-ready developer handoff.

  • Fluent in digital product thinking, with a working knowledge of user flows, information architecture, interaction design, and responsive behavior.

  • Brand-literate, able to interpret visual identity systems and translate them faithfully into digital environments without compromising usability.

  • Curious and hands-on with AI-powered design tools, with examples of how you have used generative imagery, automated asset production, or AI-assisted prototyping to enhance your work.

  • Data-informed, comfortable reviewing analytics, heatmaps, and A/B test results to iterate on and improve design performance.

  • A clear communicator who presents design rationale with confidence to both internal teams and clients, connecting creative decisions to strategic and commercial objectives.

  • Technically aware, with a working understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks sufficient to design within real-world constraints and collaborate effectively with developers.

Responsibilities

Creative

  • Own the design of ecommerce experiences, including product pages, collection pages, landing pages, checkout flows, and promotional campaigns across platforms such as Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and custom builds.

  • Translate brand identities into cohesive digital design systems that maintain visual integrity across web, mobile, and email touchpoints.

  • Design responsive, high-fidelity interfaces in Figma, delivering production-ready assets, interactive prototypes, and detailed interaction specifications for developer handoff.

  • Build and maintain scalable Figma component libraries and design systems, including component variants, auto-layout structures, and design tokens, that drive consistency and efficiency across projects.

  • Develop wireframes, user flows, and prototypes in Figma to communicate design intent and validate solutions with stakeholders before execution.

  • Partner with Strategy teams to ensure digital creative is grounded in consumer insight, brand positioning, and commercial objectives.

  • Integrate data and analytics into the design process, using performance metrics to refine and optimize digital experiences over time.

  • Explore and integrate AI-powered design tools and emerging technologies into creative workflows—from generative imagery and automated layout exploration to AI-assisted prototyping—to accelerate iteration and expand the creative toolkit available to the team.

Creative Leadership

  • Shape the digital design direction for client projects, ensuring outputs meet the highest standards of craft, usability, and brand alignment.

  • Contribute to creative reviews and critiques, providing constructive feedback that elevates the quality of digital work across the team.

  • Mentor junior designers on digital best practices, Figma proficiency, design systems thinking, and ecommerce design principles.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by sharing knowledge on Figma workflows, AI design tools, ecommerce platforms, and emerging best practices.

Business

  • Partner with the client services team to create compelling digital components of client proposals and pitch decks.

  • Build and maintain case studies that demonstrate ID's digital design capabilities and commercial impact.

  • Contribute digital expertise during new business conversations, articulating how design drives measurable outcomes in ecommerce and digital product contexts.

Operations

  • Collaborate with Production and Client Services to scope digital projects accurately, accounting for design complexity, platform constraints, and development handoff requirements.

  • Manage Figma files, assets, and deliverables with precision, using ID's operational foundations as a daily practice.

  • Communicate clearly and proactively with project leads, clients, and development partners to ensure alignment on timelines, deliverables, and quality standards.

  • Contribute to end-of-project evaluations, identifying opportunities to improve digital workflows, tooling, and cross-functional handoff processes.

Management

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, helping build digital design capability and Figma fluency across the team.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by sharing knowledge on Figma workflows, AI design tools, ecommerce platforms, and emerging best practices.

  • Support team leads in managing project priorities and ensuring digital workstreams are delivered on time and at a high standard.

Logistical Requirements

The Senior Digital Designer will be based out of our Los Angeles office, with a commitment to in-person collaboration. Monday – Thursday required in the office, optional Work-from-home Fridays.

Travel within the US and internationally may be required based on client and company needs. As a full-time employee, the role may involve working extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet client deadlines.
